Well, looks like this development update is just a little bit late. Nobody noticed, right?
Anyhow, I’ve got some exciting news. We’ve decided to launch a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter as soon as we get gameplay footage or more substantial game art. As well, I’ve recruited five new members to the team; two new programmers, an artist, a composer, and a pair of designers. These new contributors will help us continue to progress towards a playable demo of Facade. As well, I’ve begun seeking new channels to recruit talented designers, developers, and producers.

I also want to use this post to reveal a few behind-the-scenes details about Facade. Since November, when I revamped the application process, we’ve had over 100 submissions. Of these 100 submissions, approx. 15% have followed through, and actually actively contributed. This has led to a realization that it’s crucial to focus on recruiting not merely quantity, but quality. I’m also experimenting with a few new project management strategies, as we begin to fully embrace the Agile project management methodology, and not merely Lean.
Namely, more frequent meetings, weekly progress reports, more detailed guidelines for contributors, and other initiatives.
